A Victorian terrace in Windsor. The front of the house kept what was worth keeping — tessellated tiles, timber sashes, cornices, the original front door — and everything behind it was rebuilt. The back opens into one room for the kitchen and living, with black joinery, a stainless steel island and a butler's pantry painted blue behind a sliding door. Out the back, bluestone paving under a steel pergola.
Old and new sit next to each other here without pretending to match. That was the point.
